AXA XL’s Art Initiatives
Discover AXA XL’s commitment to the Arts.
At AXA, we believe in the power of art to inspire and enrich our lives. That’s why we’ve been sponsoring two of the largest global gatherings in the art world for over 15 years. We are proud to have been the lead partner of TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair) Maastricht since 2004 and we are honoured to have sponsored Art Basel in Basel since 2006.
We’re enabling the artists of the future, too. The AXA Art Prize shines a light on emerging artists, offering them an unrivalled opportunity to have their work seen by curators from the country’s most influential museums, including The Met, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Art, and to be judged by some of America’s greatest living figurative artists, such as Bo Bartlett, Rachel Feinstein, Elizabeth Peyton, Calida Rawles, and Peter Saul. We hope, for many, it’s a bold beginning to an illustrious career.
The prize has evolved over time, beginning as the Catlin Art Prize in 2007, evolving into the XL Innovate Art Exhibition (In Ireland), and later, the XL Catlin Art Prize before finally becoming the AXA Art Prize in 2018. Different names, but same commitment.
