AXA and Ircam Centre Georges Pompidou

By becoming the exclusive sponsor of Ircam Centre Georges Pompidou's Espace de projection, AXA is committing for the first time to the protection and transmission of intangible and sound heritage

Located in Paris on place Igor-Stravinsky, in the heart of Ircam’s headquarters, the Espace de Projection is a unique place whose acoustics and scenography can be modified. The room, inaugurated under the direction of Pierre Boulez, had been closed since 2014. Thanks to the support of AXA, it benefited from a campaign to renew and modernize its equipment which places it at the forefront of innovation and allows it to remain an international benchmark for sound professionals.

From January 2023, the Espace de Projection will once again be able to host a season dedicated to electronic music, installations as well as participatory and immersive performances.

As part of its sponsorship with Ircam Centre Georges Pompidou, AXA also supported the creation on January 17, 2023 of Transfert, an immersive work by composer Florent Caron Darras whose aim is to transpose sounds of nature into musical notes. Sound memory is one of the areas of work of Ircam engineers. Transfer was designed especially for the reopening of the Espace de Projection.

Finally, AXA participated in the design and production of a tailor-made digital sound work intended to extend the musical DNA of the fountain created on Place Igor-Stravinsky in Paris by Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely in tribute to the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky.
