AXA is the second most responsible insurer in 2020

We are proud to have improved our score in the DJSI (Dow Jones Sustainability Index) and to now be ranked number two in the insurance industry.

In 2020, AXA’s global score reached 88/100, an increase of 5 points compared with last year. Our ranking in the insurance industry goes from 3rd place in 2019 to 2nd place this year. We have made progress in two criteria covered by the ranking: +8 points in "Governance and Economic", +3 points in "Social".

Thomas Buberl

Chief Executive Officer of AXA

I am very pleased that we are now ranked number 2 in the DJSI. This demonstrates that corporate responsibility is an important component of the Group’s strategy and it illustrates the strength of our purpose: act for human progress to protect what matters.

Céline Soubranne

CHIEF CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY OFFICER

Since AXA's first rating in DJSI in 2007, our sustainable performance has increased. Even through these difficult COVID times, we have maintained our social performance, in line with our purpose. DJSI is also criteria of LTI’s attribution (Long Term Incentives), distributed as performance shares to almost 7000 within the group.

Managed by Global Standard & Poor’s, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index includes global leaders in Sustainability. Its purpose is to track and rank the world’s major companies oriented towards Sustainability, based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria. It is globally recognized as a unique benchmark in the area of corporate social responsibility. AXA first joined the DJSI in 2007.
