Inclusion and diversity are central to our purpose at AXA. Our goal is to build an organization that reflects the communities we serve - giving our people opportunities to thrive, innovate and better support our global customers.

Our approach is rooted in equal opportunity, respect for differences, and a culture that recognizes performance above all else.

AXA offers fair pay

Each year, we measure the overall Gender Pay Gap (Unadjusted) and the Adjusted Pay Gap. We uphold fair treatment and pay, dedicating budgets to closing any unjustified pay gaps when they arise:

  • The Unadjusted Pay Gap: a broad comparison of average pay between men and women.  It stands at 22% for fixed salary (median 21%) and 26% for total compensation (median 24%)
  • The Adjusted Pay Gap: offers a more refined measure, factoring in job roles, locations, and grades. Ours currently stands at 1.3% on fixed salary and 1.4% on total compensation, well within the EU directive’s 5% threshold.

Beyond pay equity, we ensure a fair standard of living for all employees
Through our partnership with the Fair Wage Network, and as a certified Living Wage Employer since 2023, we provide all employees worldwide with a wage that supports a decent standard of life.

AXA supports leaders as they build their careers

The company offers various programs to help leaders succeed in their career. One example is the Evolve career management program, which has engaged 112 participants since its launch in 2020. A majority of these participants are women (62%). Evolve lasts 12 months and helps employees get ready for career evolution into the Global Leadership Network. The program includes psychometric testing, business simulations, mentoring, tailored career planning, and networking opportunities. A fifth cohort was launched in November 2025, furthering the Group's goal to develop and support the next generation of AXA leaders”.

Age does not dictate success at AXA

We seek out diverse talent, whatever their age, and foster a culture where everyone, no matter their age, can grow professionally.

That is why AXA signed the Club Landoy charter, committing to ten actions that strengthen the role of employees over 50. But our mission goes beyond that – we are driving inclusion across all generations by tackling age-related stereotypes and ensuring equal access to opportunities.

Several initiatives are underway, including in:

  • AXA Italy, mentoring programs designed to connect employees from different generations and facilitate the transfer of skills and knowledge.
  • AXA XL global entities, education and awareness campaigns that challenge age-related stereotypes and highlight the value of inclusive, multigenerational teams.
  • AXA Mexico, training programs that support the development of new talent across different age groups.

Supporting Retirement Transition and Societal Engagement

Several schemes are offered to AXA employees in France to organize their working time at the end of their career, and also to make their skills available as part of a project of general interest. The "Activity-Retirement Transition" (transition activité Retraite) scheme allows employees nearing retirement to benefit from support in gradually organizing their transition to retirement.

As for skills sponsorship (mécénat de compétences), it is a commitment by the company to make AXA employees available to serve causes of general interest. Such a commitment reflects AXA's desire to play a role within society, but also to develop the skills and motivation of its employees.

Advancing accessibility and awareness

We focus on raising awareness, promoting equal opportunities, and making sure our workplaces, policies, and tools are accessible to everyone.

As signatories of the Valuable 500 and the ILO Global Business Disability Network, we have been advocating for disability inclusion since 2015. In 2024, we signed the Business Leaders' Pledge on Disability-Inclusive Sustainability Practices to reinforce our commitment.

Our Disability Inclusion Hub is the go-to space for best practices and initiatives across the Group keeping employees informed and inspired, with real-world examples from different entities:

  • AXA UK and AXA Spain have trained managers on disability inclusion
  • AXA XL has made allowances for increased awareness of neurodiversity through global and local events
  • AXA Spain and AXA Belgium have published guides on building an inclusive culture.

With ready-made resources and proven strategies, the Disability Inclusion Hub helps employees worldwide take action and create a more inclusive workplace.

Origins

Our teams come from different racial, ethnic, social, national, and cultural backgrounds. We have forums where people can share their unique perspectives and experiences.

Our future leaders should reflect the world around us. We believe our differences make us stronger and help us connect better with each other, our customers, and the world we all share.

LGBT+*

We support all our LGBT+ employees whether they are out or not.

Since 2018, AXA has been a signatory of the UN’s LGBT+ Standards of Conduct, working to end discrimination and drive meaningful change.

*We use the term ‘LGBT+’ to represent the wide range of sexual orientations, identities and expressions that exist.
