Expertise and experience

Gérald Harlin is a graduate of ESSEC business school. From 1979 to 1990, he held several positions within the Total group. He was Head of Corporate Finance Department for North America, Mining & Chemical Subsidiaries from 1989 to 1990. Gérald Harlin started working for the AXA Group in 1990 as Corporate Treasurer and became Head of Corporate Finance in 1991. In 1994, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of AXA Asset Management Europe and its subsidiaries and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Banque. He joined AXA France in 1997 as Chief Investment Officer. In 2000, he was appointed Market Program Manager of AXA France. He became Chief Financial Officer of AXA France in 2001 until March 2003. From 2003 to 2009, Gérald Harlin was Executive Vice‑President, Finance & Control of the AXA Group. From 2010 to December 2019, Gérald Harlin was Group Chief Financial Officer. During this period, he was a member of the Group’s Executive Committee (July 2008‑2016) and a member of the Group’s Management Committee (July 2016‑2019). In December 2017, Gérald Harlin was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Directeur Général Adjoint) in addition to his current responsibilities, until September 2020. From December 2019 to September 2020, he was Executive Chairman of AXA Investment Managers. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of AXA in 2022, as a representative of the Mutuelles AXA.
