Numerous offers with social or environmental added-value have been developed by various AXA entities in the P&C business. These include for example motor insurance encouraging low emissions vehicles, home insurance with environmental appliances upgrades, SME covers favoring "green" buildings or car fleets or the promotion of the development of renewable energies via adapted policies covering the equipment and the revenues derived from electric energy sales, etc, as well as adapted reinsurance and claims management strategies.
AXA France's "Libre Voiture" package is an innovative model whereby customers are offered the use of a small urban, low emissions vehicle during the week, and a large family car (wagon-type) over the week end or vacations, thereby reducing overall emissions without the need to purchase two cars. AXA Spain offers electric scooters premium discounts via an agreement with an electric scooters manufacturer, with the objective of AXA being considered as a recommended insurance company, while applying a competitive premiums to these vehicles. Numerous local entities offer discounts for low CO2 emission vehicles.
AXA UK "Green Homeowner" policy distributed through the M&S Money scheme. Where customers make a claim, AXA seeks to reinstate / replace property and possessions in a sustainable way - either using environmental rebuilding standards or improved energy efficiency of electrical replacement items.
All buildings and contents claims to a varying degrees are covered.Electrical upgrade promise applies where the energy rating is in scope of EC energy rating standards (currently dishwashers, tumble driers, refrigerators, freezers).Green rebuilding applies to large damage claims where the majority of the property is damaged by an insured event.
AXA France partnership « 1,2,3 Environnement » : an AXA France / Assemblée des Chambres Françaises de Commerce et d'Industrie (AFCI) partnership which enables SMEs to gradually proceed towards environmental certification (ISO 14001 or EMAS), in order to much complex certificates more accessible to smaller enterprises in France. AXA France proposes to any company certified on level 1 of the 1,2,3 Environnement programme to benefit from a 30% premium rebate on the G.R.E.EN insurance contract ("Garantie des Risques Environnement de l'Entreprise"). AXA thus recognizes that this step by step environmental management approach reduces environmental damages.
Road safety represents a key issue for society in general. AXA, as a leading motor insurer, has built up in-depth expertise on the analysis of risky driving behavior and how to reduce the consequences of accidents. In this way, the Group is able to take preventative actions with a view to effectively minimizing the number and severity of road accidents, benefiting not only its clients, but also society in general.
