WayGuard gives ‘peace of mind’ when walking home

Walking home at night can be a source of anxiety and AXA Germany may have found the solution with the launch of WayGuard.

Designed for women, the mobile app WayGuard transmits the user's geographic location to a coordination center. The latter, in case of emergency, can alert rescue services. WayGuard includes additional services, such as a chat feature, that allows users to talk with friends and family, who can track their location and be notified when they arrive safely at home. The app also provides prevention tips: how to plan your trip home and decline unwelcome advances.
