Delivering a new class of protection and comfort for customers

This summer, AXA Germany created an interdisciplinary team which is working on innovative solutions that offer customers protection and comfort in their everyday lives - particularly "beyond" classical insurance products. What's different to previous approaches is that ideas are tested swiftly as prototypes in order to determine how promising they really are for customers. Only if the solution clearly solves a relevant and frequent pain point of the customers, a broader roll-out will be initialized. Currently, the team focuses on finding relevant pain points in the context of "Mobility" and "Protection for young families / 55+".

The first solution provided involves an innovative parking concept - named "smartPARKING" - which was recently launched in the German city Düsseldorf and its nearby area: A chip card with smart technology ensures that the barriers of parking garages in Düsseldorf lift automatically upon entry and exit.

In addition to that the chip card contains 30 EUR parking credit exclusively for AXA motor insurance customers - when the parking credit runs out, the customers can conveniently continue using the card and pay via App. The App also navigates the customer to a free parking garage and shows helpful information to the customer in real time - parking fees, opening hours and number of free parking lots. AXA Germany teams up with the start-up "evopark" from Cologne to deliver the innovative parking technology."smartPARKING" is integrated as a motor insurance service module in AXA Germany's online quotation-software.
