Launched in 2013 in Milano (Italy), London (United Kingdom), Oaxaca (Mexico) and Madrid (Spain), this initiative will nominate up to twelve projects and award four of them with a one-year fellowship, gaining access to seed funding, focused skill development, valuable networks and a stimulating workspace at Impact Hub. So far, Milano and London (King's Cross) have selected their fellows. Find out more about their projects.

Impact Hub - Milano (Italy)

The winner is ULife (Anna Riva, Gabriele Favagrossa, Luigi Bandera). It is a web platform selling accessible tourism packages and itineraries for elders and people with special needs. ULife thus aims at facilitating the existence of four million Italians who, until now, cannot travel for aging or health reasons, by giving them the opportunity to enjoy the fun of traveling. AXA has also decided to fund another finalist which is: VIS - Very Important Senior (Giulia Predari, Carlotta Broglia), a platform developed through an app for iOS and Android to match the needs of senior citizens and the time availability of students who are willing to dedicate free time to volunteering services taking place in their neighborhood.

Impact Hub - King's Cross (London, United Kingdom)

The winner is SpeakSet (Ewan Marshall, Adi Kasliwell and Matt Simmons) - Reducing isolation for older people. It is a product that converts an older person's TV into an easy to use video calling device. It makes video calling accessible by using a clear interface and being controlled by a really simple remote control. The Speakset founders interviewed hundreds of older people in order to understand the problems they encounter and their aspirations. This allowed them to build a product that perfectly met their needs. Find out more
