In particular, AXA France is aiming to lead the way with a new kind of sponsorship. In France, AXA has partnered with crowdfunding specialist, My Major Company, which aims to support entrepreneurial and community-based projects. As part of a broader initiative called Partager Proteger (or Share Protect in English), this partnership offers internet users the opportunity to actively support projects in their local communities and beyond.
Each month, the two companies pre-select new projects. They are chosen based on their ability to demonstrate the values that the partnership believes in: risk protection, economic development, social solidarity, respect for the environment, innovation. The public are then invited to vote for the projects which appeal to them the most on Partager Proteger (Note: this site is only available in French).
The top three projects benefit from financial support from AXA France and funding can reach up to 100% of the financial requirement. “We believe that sponsorship is everyone's business and we want to involve the public, internet users, our customers, our networks and our employees.” Eric Lemaire, Director of Communications and Social Responsibility at AXA France.
Since the launch of the Partager Proteger website in November 2013, 112 projects have been put to the vote. Out of this, 51 projects have benefited from AXA France’s ‘springboard’ donation, with €183,931 given in total so far.
