Since 2015 and the publication of the "SheForShield" study that we carried out with IFC-World Bank and Accenture, I've had the opportunity to exchange with entrepreneurs and experts about the role of women in the economy.
Despite their strong representation among businesses founders, 90% of funds raised today are dedicated to startups created and led by men. By lack of self-confidence or knowledge in the funding mechanisms, women fail to raise the money they would need to build and grow their business.
As insurers, we are convinced that we can support women on this topic, and more generally encourage them in taking risks in their business decisions.
Therefore, together with Global Invest Her, we have decided to launch a global mentoring program, supported by AXA senior leaders.
If you are a woman and have created a startup or a small business at least six months ago in FinTech, InsurTech, Medtech or Internet of Things and you wish to grow your business or develop it internationally, we encourage you to submit an application before April 19th to participate in our program: click here to subscribe!
Five women will be selected and will benefit from personalized mentoring alongside AXA executives, to help them better prepare the fundraising process of their business. All participants will also receive customized advice from AXA. I'm very much looking forward to learning about your projects, to presenting them to the ten jury members, and, most of all, to seeing the results of the journey we embark on together.
Supporting the women entrepreneur’s ecosystem is part of AXA’s ambition to become women’s trusted partner. In parallel to the mentoring program, we develop and deploy solutions that are adapted to women's needs, such as health protection, retirement planning, financial education, dependency services, etc.
