Catch-up session #3 – A thought leader

Every day, AXA works hard to protect its customers, while taking this fundamental value to a larger scale. Protection also means working for a safer, more sustainable, and more responsible world. Let’s review the AXA Group’s main commitments in 2016.

Combating climate change

The close of 2015 was marked by an unprecedented commitment to fight climate change. The Paris Agreement, adopted at the COP21 climate talks in December, pledges to limit global warming to 2°C between now and 2100.

In the wake of COP21 Summit, AXA aims at keeping the Climate Change strategy on track. After divesting from companies with high exposure to coal, the AXA Group has joined the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, a public-private-civil society initiative led by the World Bank. AXA is the first insurer member to join the coalition. More to be found here!

In June 2016, in view of the forthcoming COP22 event, Christian Thimann, AXA Group Head of Strategy, Sustainability & Public Affairs, participated to a session of “Business Dialogue” on June 10th in Paris. Click her to learn more!

Getting employees involved

Every year, for six years now, AXA Group employees have come together for one week to participate in actions around their commitment to solidarity. CR week has become a key event for the Group's employees and an international benchmark for employee engagement. Relive the excitement of CR Week in 2016!

Saying no to tobacco

On May 22 in Geneva, Thomas Buberl announced AXA’s divestment from the tobacco industry. Let’s take another look at this important stand for health, supported by years of research on the risks of tobacco use.
