This annual conference is a symbolic part of our strategy to create an inclusive workplace that fosters the professional development of women. This was the occasion to give an update on the goal of "Getting More Women to the Top". In 2009, the group only had 9% of female Group Senior Executives (GSEs), as of today, 21% of our 164 GSEs are female and we have a target of reaching 33% by 2020. Amongst the key initiatives designed to achieve this objective, the 'sponsorship tandem' program to accelerate the career path of talented women is being rolled out across, building on the personal engagement of members of the Group Executive Committee.
Focus on the "SheforShield" report
Henriette Kolb (from the IFC) and Gaëlle Olivier, CEO AXA Asia GI, provided the highlights from the IFC report "SheforShield: Insure Women to Better Protect All". Women represent a 1.5 trillion-dollar opportunity for the insurance industry, concluded this study conducted by AXA, IFC and Accenture. This report is the first of its kind to provide an understanding of how much growth the women's market alone represents for the insurance industry, and what women want and need from insurance products and services, in particular in emerging markets. It also provides recommendations on how best to attract and retain women as vital clients.
