AXA: a French success story on the international stage
AXA recently headed out to meet its shareholders in Dijon and Grenoble (France).
These meetings made it possible to look back over the unique story of the Group's growth and present AXA's core strategies.
Created 30 years ago, the AXA brand has been named as the top global insurance brand for the seventh year running and is now one of the top 50 global brands*. We owe this success to the constant dedication shown by the Group's 161,000 employees to protect 103 million customers in 59 countries so they can live their lives and manage their businesses with more peace of mind.
Innovation is central to the actions taken by AXA. The Group is continuing to develop its innovation ecosystem, particularly through partnerships with leading digital players, i.e. the creation of Kamet, an InsurTech incubator, and the venture capital fund AXA Strategic Venture.
AXA is helping build a safer society with a number of initiatives:
- Anticipating and responding to climate risks,
- Promoting improved road safety with AXA Prevention,
- Supporting fundamental research with the AXA Research Fund,
- Guaranteeing data confidentiality and building sustainable relationships with our customers,
- Helping young people find work with the Alliance for Youth.
Financial commitments met. AXA achieved an excellent performance in the first half of 2015, with its underlying earnings climbing to an all-time high of Euro 3.1 billion, up 12% from 2014 on a reported basis. We are on track to meet all our targets from the Ambition AXA plan.
