In France, 900,000 people live with Alzheimer’s disease. In the United States, that number is 5.7 million. Everywhere, Alzheimer’s is increasingly common, but there is still no cure. By 2020, an estimated one in four people aged over 65 in France are expected to suffer from the condition.
Action needs to be taken urgently, and the cure will come from research. This is why AXA is modestly helping the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale by taking part in its awareness campaign inviting media, businesses and organizations to share a piece of the public’s collective memory. This gesture is a reminder of one of the first symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease: memory loss.
