In April 2016, the AXA Research Fund celebrated its ninth anniversary at AXA Group headquarters in Paris. The event highlighted the recent projects supported by the Group’s scientific philanthropy initiative – an integral part of AXA’s role to protect.

Nine years at the forefront of risk research
Since it was created in 2007, the AXA Research Fund has committed more than €149 million to 492 research projects, and it is continuing its efforts to help researchers strengthen their contributions to public dialogue on climate, socio-economic and health issues.
On April 8, 2016, researchers, AXA employees and long-term supporters of the Fund gathered to celebrate nine years of commitment to risk research to serve innovation. At the core of the event was data. This crucial aspect of technology is being studied by economists and researchers alike, who are both striving to understand and control its applications. Longevity Revolution
At the end of 2015, AXA hosted a conference on "The Longevity Revolution", which brought together AXA researchers and experts to identify the challenges and trends relating to longevity and find viable solutions.
The AXA Research Fund has devoted €21 million to support 49 projects led by researchers on this subject and also wants to promote their work and bring it to the attention of the general public. The Fund therefore chose to partner with Scientific American, the leading international scientific news publication, to share how five of its researchers are exploring aging issues. Food issues
The AXA Research Fund also examined food issues. In 2050, there will be 9.6 billion of us sharing the planet’s resources. Are our eating habits compatible with this population growth? Given this context, how can we adapt our eating behaviors?
These are questions addressed by a series of videos, produced by the AXA Research Fund in partnership with National Geographic, illustrating the efforts of three researchers to rethink the future of food.
