Why does our health depend on biodiversity?

The link between climate change and biodiversity is quite well established. But the relationship between loss of biodiversity and health – in particular through the emergence of new pathogens – is often overlooked. The Covid-19 pandemic has provided a focus on this relationship as we look for the root cause of the current crisis and prepare for future ones.
