This position primarily involves reviewing and coordinating responses to third-party process received in connection with state and federal court matters pending nationwide, as well as from regulatory and governmental agencies, including subpoenas, IRS summons, restraining notices, bankruptcies, inquiries, verifications, authorizations, garnishments and writs of executions. This involves identifying and collecting documents from various business areas, preparing written responses to the requests and interacting with attorneys or legal staff making the requests.
Responsibilities also include managing and responding to various phases of first-party discovery. These tasks include consulting with in-house attorneys as to scope of lawsuits, arbitrations or disputes, understanding all case-specific needs, assisting attorneys with appropriate discovery-related tasks and adhering to eDiscovery manual protocols and procedures.
• College degree or the equivalent of at least 5 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate law department;
• Paralegal Certificate preferred;
• ability to successfully work alone and as part of a team;
• demonstrated success in a professional environment
