This critical position within the Actuarial Valuation department will be responsible for Individual Annuity and Pension Statutory and Tax Valuation.

  • Oversee and support all aspects of Individual Annuity and Pension Statutory/Tax Valuation for AXA's Individual Annuity Product lines, which include Variable, Deferred and Payout annuities
  • Oversee team responsible for US Stat/Tax, US GAAP and IFRS Valuation for Pension products
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly Annuity valuation deliverables are met in a timely and accurate fashion.  Prepare analysis and facilitate communication of VA CARVM results
  • Prepare necessary year-end statutory filing requirements, including AG43/VA CARVM, C3P1 and C3P2 reserve and capital certifications and memorandums
  • Contribute to annuity portion of year-end annual statement exhibits and disclosures
  • Own SOX/MAR processes for the Individual Annuity/Pension quarterly Valuation processes discussed above
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert with regards to Annuity Valuation developments in the Industry, including NAIC VA Statutory Reserve update (QIS 2)
  • Contribute towards transformation of Actuarial processes to significantly modernize, enhance and improve valuation processes
  • Support and potentially lead AXA's Asset Adequacy Testing (note Modeling Team owns and runs models)
  • Manage a team of approximately 5 team members to complete objectives above


  • Bachelors degree, FSA designation and 10+ years of work experience; Variable/Deferred Annuity Statutory Valuation experience highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate results to management
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team of approximately 5 across different locations
  • Ability to foster good working relationships with business partners / team members
  • Excellent judgment and ability to grasp complex subject matter and communicate succinctly to non-technical experts
  • Good Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint
