Overall Responsibility

  • Responsible for the overall management of Life Operations team
  • Directs the business activities, both tactical and strategic, for the Life Insurance Operations teams
  • Manages directors of business units and ensures business goals and objectives are defined, measured and achieved
  • Supports the organization's strategic alliances, negotiating vendor relationships and managing internal partnerships with IT, HR, Finance, Legal and Risk team
  • Must keep apprised of various business issues or problems as they surface, i.e. new tax regulations, product development, market fluctuations and media commentary on investment issues
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate procedures and controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, productivity and regulatory integrity are maintained for all work performed within the life insurance operations area
  • Serves as the Registered Principal for Life Operations as regulated by FINRA
  • Responsible for high degree of decision making, accountability, and authority to approve adjustments to client, participant and AXA Equitable records
  • Directs functions, staff and systems necessary to provide pre/post sale administration and client service
  • Reports to Executive Committee on operating performance, results and goals

 Size & Scope of Area (function supervised/number of employees)

  • Direct Reports – 4-6
  • Life Operations Team - Approx. 250 FTEs, Charlotte, NC
  • Remote staff at AXA Business Partners (ABS) – Approx. 250 FTEs, 2 locations - Bangalore and Pune

 Budgetary Responsibility

  • Manage operations budgets to ensure financial solvency of the business.
  • Participate in Claims/Mortality controls through robust Claims handling and tracking.
  • Direct Budget - $40mm

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or similar discipline
  • FINRA Series 6 and 26 (or completed within 6 months of start date)
  • 10-15 years in a Financial Services environment, including Life Insurance Operations experience
  • Ability to set strategic vision and direction as derived from the overall strategy of the organization
  • Must have a strong Financial Service/Insurance operational acumen
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and talent
  • Ability to maintain and cultivate strong field and carrier relationships to enhance AXA’s position in the insurance marketplace
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
