Technical Skills


  • 10+ years in Information Technology with 5+ years of experience as a Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Architect specializing in Compute, Storage, Cloud, Security and Network Technologies.
  • Experience with some/most of the following technology areas:
    • Datacenter & Network Infrastructure providers
    • Network: Switching, Routing, Layer 2/3 design, Local and Global load Balancing, Firewall, VLANs
    • Software Defined Networks (SDN), Software Defined Data Centers (SDDC), Software Defined Storage (SDS).
    • Server hardware: Blade and Chassis management, NIC configurations, Capacity management, IO performance, Local Disk Performance and Tuning
    • Virtualization, VMware, ESX, Hyper-V
    • Cloud technologies: AWS & Microsoft  Azure
    • Operating systems: Linux , Windows Server
    • Database and Data Analysis infrastructure
    • Storage and very large scale Data Management: SAN, NFS, CIFS, NetApp,
  • Able to effectively develop and communicate IT security strategies and architectures both verbally and in writing (e.g. solution architecture specifications, long range Infrastructure Architecture  strategies) to a diverse audience.
  • Strong documentation & presentation skills.
  • Expertise relating to the design and development of information technology architectures across the organization.
  • Sound decision making on security architecture based on expertise of open/industry standards, current and evolving technologies, products, standards, approaches, etc.
  • Good enterprise-wide view of operational risk within the Compute & Networking industry.

Linguistic Knowledge  /  Travel


Taking into account the multi-cultural environment, strong English knowledge in speaking and writing is mandatory (level 3 / extensive). Knowledge of a European language is a plus.

Peer locations include Paris area, NYC area, Cologne, Winterthur and Bangalore. Approximately 10% travel is expected on a routine basis, more during peak activities and at start-up.




Main Activities

  • Manage AXA Tech standardization process (Technology Architecture Management) taking into account functional, technical & partnership criteria
  • The Senior Infrastructure Architect is responsible to develop a technical solution based upon deep technology expertise, industry knowledge, infrastructure management experience and creative, collaborative thinking.
  • Perform on going Market analysis & architecture reviews for specific Compute, Storage, Network & Cloud technologies. Taking into consideration product reviews and roadmaps, to evaluate the impact on operations

and cost to ensure the most appropriate & cost effective architecture solutions and standards are defined in line with the overall strategy

  • Create support material – e.g. technology frameworks, blueprints, white papers, etc…
  • Present standards/waivers/architecture principles to AXA Tech Architecture Governance committees for review and formal approval.
  • Produce technical documents for global publication that’s used by regional engineers to implement network solutions.
  • Contribute the maintenance of the Technology & Standards Catalogue for AXA Tech and AXA Group.
  • Facilitate networking of technology experts and foster knowledge sharing within AXA Tech Technical family.
  • Provide technical support & advice to Procurement.


Areas of Responsibility


  • Infrastructure status: Be the custodian of Infrastructure Architecture to ensure that AXA Tech Compute, Storage & Cloud infrastructure is and remains aligned with business and security requirements.        
  • Standard convergence:  Drive the implementation of Compute, Storage & Cloud standards
  • Emerging Technologies: Monitor new and emerging technologies for implications and opportunities for the overall IT Infrastructure architecture.
  • Consultancy: Provide architecture consultation on large or highly complex initiatives so that they meet business objectives and are in line with overall Enterprise Architecture strategy.
  • Proof of Concept: Perform Proof of Concepts on highly complex initiatives and reporting that analysis to management.
  • Vendor management: Responsible for technical supplier management with third party suppliers.
  • Incident & problem management: Provide level 3 support for complex IT infrastructure incidents and problems.
  • Standard convergence:  Drive the implementation of standard IT infrastructure.
  • Strategy implementation: Drive the evolution of Infrastructure Services according to the strategy defined by the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and ratified by the AXA Tech Executive Leadership Team (ELT).





Context and Main Mission


The main mission for the Infrastructure Services Architect is to serve as the ‘standardization champion’ for the Infrastructure Architecture Services Team,

driving the creation of architecture principles and standards across multiple infrastructure technologies (Compute, Storage, Network, Security, Cloud).




  • Provide technical leadership within a Global Team of approximately 8 Senior Infrastructure Services Architects.  
  • Work closely with, and establish strong, effective working relationships with the following peers, partners and stakeholders:
    • Build / Program Management Teams
    • Regional Technical Teams
    • AXA-Tech Global Architect and overall AXA Architecture community
    • Data Centre and Network Infrastructure Vendors
