The Reinsurance and Commercial Lines Pricing team oversees reinsurance reporting/optimization across all business units of AXA, along with pricing actions within the commercial business unit. The team’s scope of work includes the following:


  • Ensuring that underwriting and product development are aligned with the Reinsurance Management Strategy
  • Coordinating reinsurance strategy discussions with internal business stakeholders
  • Monitoring reinsurance optimization actions and results
  • Engaging AXA Global Re on annual reinsurance renewal exercises
  • Administer reinsurance settlement processes

Commercial Lines Pricing

  • Conducting periodic pricing reviews and building technical pricing frameworks across main product classes
  • Monitoring impact of pricing/underwriting actions on profitability
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting exercises to ensure that targets are linked to pricing actions
  • Supporting product launches and reviews

 This resource will work on tasks in the area of GI and EB Reinsurance, including the following:

  • Improving the quality of reinsurance data by ensuring that databases are coded accurately
  • Supporting the annual treaty renewal exercise - consolidating risk profile information and exposure data, providing business explanations on portfolio trends, addressing queries from the Group office (AXA Global Re), managing communications with various stakeholders
  • Managing the administration of reinsurance accounts, including compiling and sending regular statements of accounts to various reinsurance counterparties and ensuring that reinsurance balances are settled in a timely manner
  • Facilitating regular reporting requirements such as annual statutory forms and monthly reporting of facultative RI exposures
  • Supporting business stakeholders with other ad-hoc requests such as accumulation queries and RI optimization studies
- Graduate student in actuarial science, economics, statistics, mathematics or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of insurance concepts
- Strong IT knowledge: Excel, VBA, Python (in particular, strong proficiency in Python is preferred)
- Good communication skills and ability to learn on the job
- Prior internship experience is preferred
