Job Purpose

AXA IM Americas is looking for a senior tax accountant, overseeing the corporate taxes for its US operations, supporting the finance team, coordinating, and monitoring the tax compliance with external service providers, and acting as an interface with the AXA IM Global Tax Team based in Paris, France.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the tax compliance with the support of external service providers, including federal and state tax returns
  • Prepare Transfer Pricing documentation with the support of an external advisor, and oversee the implementation of global transfer pricing policies
  • Prepare tax provisions under IFRS and statutory accounts
  • Calculation of DTA/DTL monthly for US- and Mexico-based companies
  • Perform annual reconciliation between taxes based on final tax returns vs year-end tax accruals
  • Monitor tax audits and answer to inquiries from tax authorities (Federal and State), follow up on Federal and state correspondences
  • Advise management on the tax impact of corporate strategies (including M&A transactions) and/or new tax regulations (if any)
  • Preparing other tax returns (property tax, sales & use tax)

Role Requirements

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • CPA preferred

Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in tax accounting, preferrably in the Asset Management, Insurance or Banking industries

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong interest for asset management and financial markets
  • IFRS and US GAAP technical accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and filings
  • Proven track record of delivery in a fast-paced, delivery-oriented environment with immovable deadlines and high-quality standards
  • Proactive self-starter who can take the initiative and work independently
