It’s an exciting time to join the Digital team here at AXA Health, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform, deliver new digital services to our customers, streamline, and automate our business processes. We have a number of exciting React Engineer roles as part of our transformation programme, so come and join our friendly and supportive IT delivery team and be part of our journey with us.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a new agile team to build our next generation of online and mobile applications. With an extensive focus on automation and code quality, you will work with automated test packs and release pipelines to ensure a highly efficient and quality product is shipped to users. At AXA we’re adopting a Hybrid way of working, empowering our people to balance their time between home and our Tunbridge Wells office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Contribute to the technical design, testing, implementation and delivery of secure, quality web applications using continuous delivery and agile best practices.
  • Collaborate with the team and stakeholders including pairing with designers, UX, data scientists etc.
  • Engage in user research, customer support, and get involved in other related activities where you can continue to learn more about how the product works.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the team and across the IT department.
  • Proven relevant work experience in a similar role. Extensive experience with mobile and web application development and deployment.
  • Extensive working knowledge of a good variety of full stack delivery technologies, with a focus on React.
  • Experience working with the following: Redux, Axios, Typescript, Apple & Android app store processes, Azure DevOps.
  • Comprehensive understanding of BDD, TDD and SOLID principles.
  • Advanced OO and enterprise integration skills.
  • You'll be curious and have a growth mindset in order to work with their team to experiment and take calculated risks in search of innovative solutions.
