Senior Financial Controller / Senior Accountant
AXA IM Americas is looking for a senior accountant and controller, overseeing the books of a large legal entity, supporting the investment teams for new product launches and ongoing client interactions, coordinating cash management and corporate restructuring initiatives, and acting as an interface with the central AXA IM Finance Teams based in Europe.
Accounts receivable: coordinating the billing of US-based clients and products (AXA insurance companies, third parties), leveraging the documentation produced by central teams and adapting it to the local context, in coordination with the operations and client support teams, and maintaining related accounting entries
Accounts payable: managing specific high impact vendors, ensuring timely payment and maintaining related journal entries
Audit: managing the annual financial audit by a Big 4 audit firm, preparing financial statements, following up on requests
Product support: supporting the launch and ongoing management of US-based products on behalf of the finance team (CLOs, Fixed Income High Yield funds, Hedge funds...)
Compliance: implement and enforce financial controls, document exceptions, coordinate the US control framework with the central finance teams
Treasury: cash management, monitor operational bank account, coordinate funding and cash optimization with the legal, risk and central finance teams
Technical accounting: prepare complex accounting entries in IFRS and US GAAP (e.g. real estate lease under IFRS 16)
Corporate structuring: contribute to a large corporate restructuring project involving the merger of several legal entities. Lead the related finance workstreams (accounting consolidation, banking consolidation, vendor and client management)
Ad hoc projects: participate in high impact ad hoc projects, with strong exposure to the top management of the company, in Europe and in the US
Bachelor degree in Accounting and/or Finance
5-10 years of experience in accounting, preferrably in the Asset Management, Insurance or Banking industries
Knowledge and Skills
Strong interest for asset management and financial markets
IFRS and US GAAP technical accounting
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
In depth knowledge of an accounting platform (knowledge of CODA is a plus)
Proven track record of delivery in a fast-paced, delivery oriented environment with immovable deadlines and high quality standards
Proactive self starter who can take the initiative and work independently
High integrity and trustworthiness with confidential financial information
Great organization skills and high attention to detail
Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
Capacity to interact at any level of the organization from operational to top management
