POSITION SUMMARY
 

Open position for a SSC Accountant working as part of the SSC Expense accounting team responsible for all expense accounting processes, analysis and reporting for specific countries and processes assigned in support of the overall Finance function. This is a fixed term position which requires that all work is completed in an accurate, efficient and timely manner, reported and reviewed with all stakeholders and adequately supported from an audit perspective.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES          

  • Manage and complete the monthly expense accounting close for specific regions / countries / processes within the required timelines

  • Ensure all monthly / quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with defined policy.

  • Full and accurate review and commentary on all Expense and Balance Sheet reports, review with Manager and follow up on all points raised

  • Reporting of financial results and support to relevant regional / country Controllers and Financial Planning team

  • Supporting the Group reporting teams through analytical reviews including specific year-end requirements to tight deadlines

  • Responsive and proactive management of all external and internal audit and control questions as required

  • Identification of areas for process improvement, automation and centralisation of work and implementation thereof

  • Manage and work closely with the Various AXA IT & Facility teams and managing the Quarterly MGA Accrual process and journal postings to the ledger to ensure accurate and reliable reporting of data.

  • Mange and calculate the Quarterly claims handling % to be input by the Actuarial team. This means working very closely with the Actuarial, Operations and finance teams to gather and calculate this % quarterly.

  • Additional activities as assigned including participation in business projects

  • Ensuring all processes are completed accurately, efficiently and within the required timelines

  • Supporting SSC management, Group Reporting team, local country accounting teams and FP&A team on expense accounting analysis and reporting

  • Proactive support on all external and internal audit as required

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Qualified Accountant, ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA
  • First-hand experience in posting expense Accruals and Prepayment journals using Accounting software.
  • Post-qualification experience within Financial Control and Reporting
  • Multinational experience (preferably within Insurance industry)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiastic with a proactive effective attitude
  • Ability to manage change and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical, accounting, presentation and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and organised with good attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite
