The Data governance and transformation team

Together with the data board, the Data Governance and transformation team is responsible for realising the AXA Bank data strategy.
Within our data governance framework, we develop new data capabilities & build on our target data architecture step by step. The different data projects within the bank are monitored by us. We define the data requirements and ensure that they are realised. The different business teams are supported and coached by us in applying the data governance framework in their daily activities.
To further expand and improve this scope, we are looking for a motivated Data Governance Consultant.
As a person who is passionate about data and analytics, loves a challenge, and whose strengths lie in data strategy and data governance, then you are probably the person we are looking for to join us in ensuring that AXA bank evolves into a data-driven organisation that optimally transforms information into value.

The Data Governance Consultant

As data governance consultant, you will help ensure that our data's quality, availability, and reliability continue to improve. To this effect, you work closely with the different business teams (customer journeys, risk & finance, etc.) and the IT/transformation teams

You are responsible for helping to define and roll out the data governance framework within AXA Bank as a key enabler of our data transformation: Business glossary, data quality, data lineage, and metadata are just a few of the capabilities to manage our data in an efficient manner

You translate our data governance framework into concrete processes & guidelines, roles & responsibilities, together with the team, and evaluate which tools can support this data governance framework

The business will be guided and supported by you to roll out these data governance activities in practice within their domain:  Your focus will be on facilitating the data governance activities by coaching the business teams and providing best practices. You create the bridge between the business teams and the IT/Domain teams

You report the progress of the different teams, assess their current level of maturity and progress in order to demonstrate the value of data governance (data maturity assessments)

You support more technical roles in the set-up of data governance tools (metadata, glossary)

To quickly pick up the role, it is useful that you have a Bachelor or Masters degree, preferably in an economic, analytical or IT discipline, and have a proven first professional experience in Data Governance, data strategy, management and/or quality

You are passionate about data & analytics, eager to learn, and want to grow as an expert in this field. As an ambassador, you are able to promote this passion throughout the organisation

You like to think along at a strategic level, and simultaneously you understand the art of translating conceptual frameworks into concrete processes, procedures and systems

Interaction with others gives you energy. You connect easily with others and are able to build good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, gaining their trust as an advisor. Not only do others listen to you when you give advice based on your expertise, but you are also able to convince them of the importance of your point so that they will apply it

Colleagues value you as a worthwhile team player with a positive attitude who embraces change.
To be able to make yourself understood by your colleagues, you speak fluent Dutch, and you can express yourself professionally in English and French

Useful but not a must:

Knowledge of GDPR or other data regulations (BCBS 239, etc.)

Knowledge of conceptual data modelling
