Occupational Health Advisor (6 mth FTC)
Occupational Health Advisors make a tangible and lasting difference to people’s lives every day.
At AXA, our ambition is no different. We want people, be it our clients or employees, to be the best they can, whatever that means to them.
Our enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Health Team play a vital role in the health and wellbeing journey of the many employees of our clients. We work across a diverse range of business sectors including Financial Services, automotive, aviation, drinks and manufacturing. In return, our team enjoy a competitive and extensive remuneration package, details of which can be found further below.
An Occupational Health Advisor role at AXA will see you undertaking case management & management referrals over the phone; not forgetting the all-important pragmatic management advice letters. Additionally, any onsite Health Surveillance element will include HAVS, lung function testing and health questionnaires.
Variety is key to job satisfaction, and that is true of our OHA roles. Not only will you have an assortment of clients, but you may work onsite to undertake assessments, as well as working from home on diverse range of cases; no two days are the same. As such, you must be comfortable with the possibility of travel as part of your working week and you will need your own car.
Our team are dedicated to using both their specialist clinical skills and experience to provide expert assessments and the right solutions to match the client’s needs. This enables organisations to better support their employees, making a real difference to their lives every working day and beyond.
In return, we take great care to ensure our OHA team are continually and consistently supported and developed. Above all, we foster an inclusive culture and a healthy work-life balance to ensure you can be at your best (and we practice what we preach).
It’s important to note that we champion flexible working and are more than happy to consider both full and part time hours, whatever this could look like for you. This role can be done from home although if you live near any of our clients, we may ask you to work on-site on a very occasional basis. Here at AXA, we understand and appreciate that different people are at different stages of their life and/or career. Talk to us and tell us what works for you.
You must be a qualified and registered nurse, ideally with a diploma or certificate in Occupational Health or working towards an OH qualification, but we can be flexible on this. It would be advantageous to have experience in a commercial occupational health setting, particularly with exposure to case management/health surveillance; however, we’re very happy to consider nurses coming from a triage environment where they’ve had exposure to an extensive variety of cases, or other relevant environments.
Like you, we take our duty of care to our clients as paramount. Initially, it is essential all records are accurate and comply with NMC standards, and everyone feels comfortable working to agreed service levels. Secondly, self-assured conversations with the client’s HR team and line managers are highly valued. Finally, providing practical real-world advice on compliance within current legislation where required.
With a presence in over 60 countries, and 165,000 employees serving the needs of 107 million customers, AXA is big.
But never too big to care for every single person who works here. So when you join us, we promise to put our collective might behind you and your career.
You’ll work in an open and supportive environment where you’ll be developed, challenged and encouraged to move around to achieve even bigger and better things – nationally and internationally. You’ll learn directly from senior leaders, from the best in our business. And you’ll enjoy real responsibility, really early on.
