Please note that this role can be based in Shannon or Athlone - Ireland or in Redhill - UK. 

You will be supporting the Compliance team with the implementation of a robust and effective Compliance framework across the business. Experience in Complaints, Audits or Operational Risk Management, preferably from a regulated insurance company, would be a plus. You will be supporting the Compliance team in implementing policies, procedures and ensuring the delivery of the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan. This will allow you to gain technical knowledge and expertise in the UK and international regulatory environment while supporting the 2nd line of defence duties and tasks and contributing to the oversight of the 1st line of defence activities through very practical interactions with business stakeholders.

This position is the stepping stone into a professional career in Compliance through the combined technical, regulatory and business exposures it provides. There is a lot of scope for career progression with the potential for the role to be expanded to cover global projects across all geographies and business units.

 

What does your day look like?

  • Ensure the role out of UK Compliance monitoring across required business units, interacting with business teams with the support of local and Central Compliance and Legal teams. This includes among others the Appointed Representative monitoring, the claims and complaints reviews with business teams.
  • Ensure appropriate escalation of issues and matters requiring approval, both locally and centrally
  • Performing ad hoc compliance activities as requested
  • Willingness to develop technical knowledge as required
  • Quality Assurance of 1st line activity to ensure regulatory Compliance

About you …

You must demonstrate business acumen and the ability to influence key stakeholders whilst maintaining a high level of personal integrity. Knowledge and understanding of Insurance products and distribution models will help you to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritise appropriately, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced dynamically changing environment.

You should be confident and articulate well orally, in writing and in presenting. It’s important that you have strong analytical and decision making skills in order to facilitate the effective and optimal derivation of solutions for any issues and problems that you may encounter.
