AXA Global Parametrics is looking for an Engineering Manager who will lead the IT development team to achieve business requirements for the next couple of years. Those business requirements include index-based insurance products standardization as well as building the new vision of AXA Global Parametrics in terms of loss-based insurance, including image-based loss assessment and new services.

Main roles and responsibilities
In collaboration with the rest of the team, and particularly the product owners and the head of tech & data, the engineering manager will:

1. Contribute actively to the definition of AGP “Tech & Data” Strategy
• Participate to business products discussion and bring vision
• Choice of technological stacks (mainly cloud but not only)
• Make or Buy choices
• Global Architecture design
• Product development roadmap prioritization (with the product owners)

2. Lead the development team in order to deliver high quality products
• Bring vision, unite the team around common objectives, cultivate the spirit initiative
• Ensure development team is part of the global AGP team (not aside)
• Participate to recruitment phases (whether internal or external workforce)
• Agile working methodology (frameworks, sprints, rituals, roles, …)
• Effective and efficient setup of engineering practices (clean code, pair coding, code reviews, test first, continuous integration and continuous delivery, tres amigos, …)
• Team management, prioritization and staffing
• Ensure products compliance with group security and regulatory guidelines

3. Ensure BAU & maintenance while products are live
• Platform upgrades
• Components monitoring
• Corrective and evolutionary maintenance
• Prioritization between BAU and project
In terms of components, the engineering manager will have to cover all the value chain, for both index-based and loss-based parametric insurance covers:
• Data sourcing
• Data storage, preparation and lineage
• Data transformation pipelines and pricing tools (mainly R, Python)
• Back-end (SQL and NoSQL databases, application exposure through data service layers toward external and internal world)
• Front-ends (for AGP team, brokers, customers, …)
• Other Internal IT solutions (customers, contracts, claims, policy management, …)

- Computer Science (engineering school, master, PhD) with good programming skills and good understanding of data science

- Conversational level in English required
- Fluency in French desired

Required skills:
- Strong experience as an IT consultant, software engineer, tech lead or architect
- Good knowledge of main cloud providers
- Already worked on data and computer vision projects
- Good knowledge of main data, back, and front-end frameworks : JS, Java/C#, NodeJs, Python R, Tensorflow, PyTorch, SQL and NoSQL DB, numpy, scikit-learn, gensim, nltk, …
- Strong autonomy and ability to work in a fast-changing world
- Rigorous in the delivery
- Team spirit
