This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team with an important role at AXA. The Risk and Insurance team is responsible for the purchase and administration of the AXA's Corporate Insurance Programs. In addition, you will be a trusted advisor and relied upon as the insurance subject matter expert for our internal business groups and AXA subsidiaries, responsible for educating and ensuring that the appropriate risk strategies are applied in the contracting process. 

The Senior Manager, Risk and Insurance role will contribute to analyses of insurance/risk financing needs of AXA Financial, through loss analysis, risk reviews and retention studies, reviews of U.S. regulatory and legal requirements, interviews with business unit management, etc. and makes recommendations for design of the Corporate Insurance Program.Negotiates insurance coverage's to meet U.S./Non-U.S. regulatory or other needs cost effectively. Also participates in the design and administration of formal self-insurance arrangements to meet these needs. This activity includes: ensuring the timely preparation of underwriting information and applications; preparing and maintaining comprehensive loss and claims records; compiling information on reportable values, head count, description of operations, etc.; review of policy wording against risk transfer objectives of AXA Financial, Inc. Provides insurance consulting internally through communicating and dealing with inquiries with respect to coverage's, reviewing insurance and hold harmless clauses in contracts, leases, purchase or service agreements, etc. Evaluates new business activities, purchases and operations to identify and evaluate potential loss exposures. Makes recommendations for treatment of those exposures.Coordinates with Legal Department the management and administration of claims including: receiving claims information and providing full reports to insurers in a prompt and complete manner; following claims through to conclusion, participating in discussions/negotiations with adjusters and underwriters, as appropriate; Maintaining claims records on data bases consistent with those used by AXA Group Risk Management, to facilitate ready access to pertinent claims information; Consulting with attorneys with respect to settlement proposals or the pursuit of litigation.


• Bachelor's degree, preferably including professional insurance designations (i.e. SRM, ARM, CIC) 
• 5-8 years of experience in Risk and Insurance 

• Must be able to work independently, with limited supervision
• Self-starter
• Strong and effective communicator; excellent written and oral presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to successfully engage with a variety of people at all levels of the organization with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
• Results oriented & forward thinker
• Strong insurance and reinsurance market knowledge acquired through risk management, underwriting or brokerage experience
• Working knowledge of captive insurance and other forms of formal self-insurance
• Strong business perspective and exposure to the financial services industry
