Job Purpose:

 

Perform tax accountant activities supporting the monthly, quarterly, and year-end tax provision processes, reporting to taxation authorities at the federal, state and local level, and advising management on the tax impact of various corporate strategies.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

1) Prepare the IFRS tax provisions and those for statutory accounts


• Calculation of DTA/DTL on a monthly basis for 3 companies (2 in US and 1 in Mexico)
• Posting of tax entries in the accounting system (CODA) and in reporting tools
• Perform annual reconciliation between taxes based on final tax returns vs. year-end tax accruals
• Work with external auditors to satisfy the consolidated and separate company financial statement tax filing requirements
• Apply Fin48 (FAS109) analysis to determine if an uncertain tax position met the recognition criteria; if affirmative, evaluated the amount of benefit that can be recorded.


2) Coordinate and monitor the tax compliance with external service providers (including Transfer Pricing documentation and oversee the correct implementation of the defined TP policies).

3) Monitor tax audits and notably answer to inquiries from tax authorities (Federal and State)

4) Advise management on the tax impact of corporate strategies (including M&A transactions) and/or new tax regulations (if any)

5) Advice management on accounting impact of corporate strategies

6) In charge of cash forecast and balance sheet monitoring

7) In charge of global and local financial audit


Role Requirements:

 

Education/Qualifications


• Bachelor’s Degree
• CPA Preferred

Experience


• 3-4 years of experience in a complex financial institution based in the US
