AXA US has established a new Employee Benefits division, which delivers a wide array of employer-contributed and voluntary products to the Employee Benefits market. To support this organization, AXA has an immediate need for an Employee Benefits Actuary. This Actuary will be part of the Central Modeling team, and will lead the financial & risk analysis on the new Employee Benefits product line including Short Term & Long Term disability, Dental/Vision, Group Life, Critical Illness & Hospital Indemnity individual insurance. The position will be responsible for:
• Work with core Employee Benefits team to complete initial build & documentation of actuarial models in GGY-AXIS. Models will be used project statutory, GAAP, and IFRS earnings and balance sheets
• Maintain and enhance Employee Benefit actuarial models
  o Implement, quantify and review assumption changes & product updates
  o Streamline modeling & reporting processes as needed
  o Ensure integration of Employee Benefits model with the modeling framework   & structure implemented under FMF
• Project, analyze, summarize and communicate results of the AXIS models for the following projects
  o Solvency II reporting, including EEV (European Embedded Value), Short Term Economic Capital (STEC) and Risk Appetite
  o Strategic Plan modeling (Statutory and IFRS basis)
  o New Business Value (NBV) projections
  o Cash Flow Testing / Asset Adequacy Testing
• Serve as a Disability/Employee Benefits subject matter expert to the Central Modeling Team with respect to product features, models and risks. Liaise with core Employee Benefits team, valuation, administrations, accounting and systems teams as needed.


• 5+ years of applicable experience
• ASA designation, FSA preferred
• Strong knowledge of Group Disability market/products to include Individual/Voluntary benefit products. 
• Strong modeling skills – knowledge of AXIS platform preferred
• Strong quantitative orientation, analytical skills, a high level of intellectual curiosity, tolerance for ambiguity and seasoned judgment.
• Demonstrated collaboration and leadership skills to interface with various internal teams.
• Must be comfortable dealing with both complexity and ambiguity and be able to explore multiple solutions to a problem.
• Must be able to present/defend solutions/positions based on an analysis of facts.
• Ability to supervise one actuarial student as needed. 
• Outgoing self starter with excellent communication skills.
