The headquarters of the AXA Group, based in Paris 8th, brings together the Group's corporate activities. It coordinates the various entities with the Group's strategy, and is responsible for managing international projects. The headquarters is distinguished by its strong international culture (39 nationalities).
AXA chose to gather its central functions within an economic interest grouping (GIE).
The GIE AXA main missions are to:
Steer the entities in order to ensure the coherence of the strategies, the consistency of the commercial approaches as well as the optimization of the risks and results;
Defining and coordinating Group policies, different transversal projects and standards, identifying and sharing best practices;
Supporting the entities in order to help them to grow, to develop their offer, their management and steering standards as well as their risk management.
You will join the Group Internal Control (IC) management team within the central Risk Management function of the AXA Group.
Group Risk Management develops the risk framework in terms of limits/thresholds (financial, insurance and operational risks), standards, minimum requirements or processes, and oversees the operating entities’ adherence to the framework, supported by the local risk management teams. Risk management is coordinating the second line of defence.
Purpose of the mission:
Within the Group IC organization, you will be a member of the IC reporting team. You will have two missions:
- Administrating and improving the Group IC reporting process (based on Excel Macros and PowerBI technology)
- Group Internal Control will deploy in 2018 a global Internal Control tool to support internal control activities at AXA Group and in its entities. You will participate to the deployment of the tool and will support the entities migration from the Excel based reports to this new tool.
Internal Control Reporting Process
Each quarter, AXA entities are required to report to the Group, using a specific Excel file format, information concerning the implementation and status of Internal Control within their entities.
Using VBA coding and general Excel knowledge you will be asked to help develop this Reporting process by:
Assisting the team in the follow-up of entities timely delivery of all Excel files under the correct format
Implementing and performing data quality checks to ensure the quality and reliability of the reporting
Identifying areas for improvement in the IC reporting process and implementing changes when required to make sure it is simple, quick and reliable (new reports definition, performance issues, automatization of repetitive actions…)
Maintaining the existing reports library and providing Group IC Team with relevant reports
Documenting all steps of the IC reporting process
Entities Migration to the Group Internal Control Reporting Tool
A Global Internal Control Tool is currently being defined and implemented in AXA. To help entities converge from the Excel reporting to this new tool you will be asked to:
Develop migration templates (Excel Macros) from the Database of information already collected through the Excel reporting. This will support entities migration to the Group IC Tool allowing them to not duplicate work already performed.
Implement and perform data quality checks to ensure the information uploaded into the Tool is aligned with the requirements.
Support end-users in their day-to-day activities within the Group IC tool.
