Primary mission:
You will join the Financial Risk Management team within the central functions of the AXA Group. The team's main responsibility is to monitor and manage the financial risks supported by the AXA Group and its subsidiaries.
The Financial Risk Manager has to identify and analyze risks, develop framework, processes and tools to manage these risks, as well as support local subsidiaries in managing their risks. The team must also provide training and advice on these risks to senior management, local subsidiaries and other relevant stakeholders.
Core activities:
1. Group Financial Risk Management
  • Monitor and analyze financial risks in AXA,
  • Review and improve the methodology to monitor financial risks,
  • Act as reference contact for financial risks,
  • Provide opinion on proposals by the 1st line as necessary,
  • Act as main contact point on financial risks for GRM and local risk teams,
  • Focus in particular on FX risk and risks from securities financing operations (repo, securities lending).
2. Group Financial Risk Governance
  • Review and improve Group financial risk policies as appropriate,
  • Ensure compliance and manage breaches and exemptions.
  • Perform internal controls on the main processes in the team,
  • Review and improve internal controls in the team.

3. Group Financial Risk Reporting 

  • Manage process and produce financial risk report, in particular for FX and repo,
  • Produce information for supervisors, investor disclosures, as requested,
  • Enhance the processes (timely, documented, automatic, flexible, and data quality monitored).
  • Update regulatory and other periodic reports for the team.
  • Contribute for the team to periodic and ad-hoc surveys, including.

Technical and professional skills (technical expertise):
  • Knowledge of financial markets,
  • Knowledge of derivatives, repo and securities lending transactions recommended,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel,
  • Programming skills in VBA recommended,
  • Fluent written and spoken English,
  • Fluent French recommended.

Soft skills and competencies:

  • Ability to interact with senior management (CFO/CRO level),
  • Demonstrate accuracy, quality and timeliness,
  • Negotiation skills to enforce rules and manage breaches,
  • Ability to manage and improve tools and processes,
  • Proficient writing and delivery of presentations,
  • Ability to manage interns.
