Job purpose
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment to deliver services
  • Provide 24x7x365 network security operations support on a shift basis
  • Support the security architecture and solutions team with a network security perspective
  • Manage the day to day operation of deployed network security technologies, such as Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), network firewalls, denial of service (DoS) protection and network access control (NAC)
  • Provide related management information and reporting to manager

Key responsibilities

Manage Network Security Services and Solutions
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment to deliver services
  • Collaborate with Head of Network Security Operations to help define technology and functional requirements for Network Security solutions and services
  • Collaborate with Head of Network Security Operations to evaluate and select suitable Vendor solutions
  • Collaborate with Head of Network Security Operations to define prevention and detection requirements
  • Collaborate with other Network Security Engineers to develop set of network access and configuration rule sets to match prevention and detection requirements
  • Collaborate with other Network Security Engineers, ISOPS Network Architects to identify network architecture and technology integration requirements to logging, security monitoring and Incident management tools and processes
  • Ensure new network devices comply with established Network device security baseline
  • Collaborate with other Network Security Engineers to develop use cases and test cases to test and verify applied rules
  • Participate and test the technology solutions to verify the prevention and detection rules are effective and achieve desired results
  • Support the roll out of new Network Security solutions and services to AXA Group and OpCOS
  • Collaborate with other Network Security Engineers to maintain and manage the availability and performance of the Network technology platforms
  • Support request for ad-hoc Network security configuration and change request
  • Support the incident management process for incidents related to network security

Manage the network security-related security policies
  • Collaborate with other Network Security Engineers and ISOPS Network security stakeholders to ensure the Network security related policies are updated annually and change to access rules

Identify and manage emerging threat actors and attack vectors for networks
  • Collaborate with ISOPS Cyber Threat Analysis and reporting team to assess emerging threats and develop plans to mitigate and implement those using Network security solutions

Shift Service
  • Collaborate with other Network Security Engineers to establish a shift rotation plan to provide network security solutions and services support on a 24x7, 365 days a year basis
  • Manage, co-ordinate and deliver services as required to ensure the efficient and effective utilisation and implementation of network security objectives

Miscellaneous Service
  • Support the architecture and design function to achieve network security objectives.
  • Support internal and external audits from a network security perspective


Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • An MSc Information Security would be desirable but is not essential

Certification
  • Information Security and/or Information Technology industry certification (CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001, CCNA, CCNP or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Member of IISP or have the qualification, skills and experience to become a member
  • Certifications from industry-leading vendors of network security solutions would be desirable but is not essential

Overall work experience in the field
  • Experience in Information Security field > 3-12 years
  • Experience in network security > 3 years
  • Proven experience in working with network security technologies such as firewalls, IPS/IDS, web application firewalls, DNS security and network access control depending upon the staffing requirement for each
  • Proven expertise in mitigating denial of service attacks and relevant technologies
