Be the referent within the Group for the valuation and accounting of employee benefit obligations and share-based compensation plans.

 

Be responsible for the Group Accounting Manual sections and for instructions related to employee benefit obligations and share-based payment transactions.

Ensure compliance with the relevant accounting principles across the Group, set up the reporting information, interact with, manage and direct local units and other finance teams on issues related to employee benefits obligations and share-based payments.

Prepare ad hoc analyses for management. Prepare related disclosure notes of AXA Group’s consolidated financial statements.

Manage trainings related to valuation and accounting of employee benefit obligations and share-based compensation plans.

From time to time, represent the Group in external forums on related topics.

Employee benefits 
  • Define and set the Group methodology and accounting principles
  • Follow accounting standard evolutions and assess the need to review and / or update Group’s reporting tools
  • Ensure the production of the final disclosures of the Group’s consolidated financial statements
  • Ensure the quality of the documentation and interact with internal financial control
  • Interact with Group accounting and consolidation teams to provide expert support as necessary
  • Participate as required in the production, analysis and review of the interim closings numbers
  • Maintain and develop related accounting/valuation tools
  • Be main point of contact for external auditors for employee benefit topics
  • Represent the Group in external forums on employee benefits matters 
Share-based compensation 
  • Define and set the Group methodology and accounting principles
  • Follow the accounting standard evolutions and assess the need to review and or update Group’s reporting tools
  • Perform and/or review actuarial valuations for new grants
  • Create or update valuation tools required for local units’ IFRS accounting and reporting inputs
  • Coordinate with main head-office stakeholders on share-based compensation (HR and other group finance teams)
  • Lead analysis and forecasting of share-based compensation expense
  • Ensure the production of the final disclosures of the Group’s consolidated financial statements
  • Maintain and develop related accounting/valuation tools
  • Determine share-based compensation impact on earnings per share calculation
  • Be main point of contact for external auditors for share-based compensation topics
  • Represent the Group in external forums on employee benefits matters 

Training

 

  • Develop training material on employee benefit obligations and share-based compensation matters
  • Manage internal training sessions

  • Actuarial expertise in valuation of employee benefits including share-based compensation schemes
  • Accounting expertise relating to employee benefits and share-based compensation schemes (in particular IAS19, IFRS2, IFRIC14)
  • At least 5 years of experience in above domains is required

 

  • General knowledge of local GAAP of main countries in which AXA operates (US GAAP, UK GAAP, French GAAP, German GAAP) to understand differences in accounting of employee benefits including share-based compensation schemes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the diversity of employee or pension benefit obligations across the world

 

  • Modelling skills (various types of pension benefit obligations and share-based payment transactions), computer programming and mathematical knowledge for fitting yield curves (e.g. spline/nelson Siegel method)
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to perform detailed review and controls of reported actuarial and accounting numbers.
  • Ability to produce reliable and qualitative and quantitative consolidated figures for the disclosure notes to Group’s consolidated financial statements
