JOB SUMMARY

1.
Evaluate risk management, control & governance processes for assessment to provide an independent assurance to management that there are adequate, effective and efficient control over key business processes
2.
To assist management in identifying opportunities for improvement in business operations and systems of internal controls
 
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
1.
Designing and preparing annual audit plan for the head office and branch operations
2.
Monitoring performance to ensure that the plans are achieved
3.
Planning, undertaking and reporting all audit reviews
4.
Finalizing of audit is based on all observations discussed in the exit meeting
5.
Ensuring complete documentation of files and that all documents have been obtained and requisite cross references have been made
6.
Provide regular reports to the country management, BNM, Audit Committee and Regional head of audit
7.
Carrying out special assignments as requested by the country management subject to the approval of the Regional Head of internal Audit
8.
Interacting periodically with BNM to apprise them of the control environment within the country operations
9.
Organizing meetings of the audit committee
10.
Assisting regional head of audit in undertaking assignments at other countries within the Asia pacific region
11.
To ensure that the company’s internal processes and procedures comply with regulatory and statutory requirements
12.
Practise and implement Leadership Framework specifically on Team Leadership & Building Capability
 
 
 

REQUIREMENTS
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Degree in Accountancy/ Finance / Business Admin / Risk / and]/ or related
PROFESSIONAL
(i.e. insurance / accounting, etc.)
AMII /ACII / DMII or equivalent insurance qualifications
Recognised accounting (Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Chartered Accountants (CA), Certified Management Accountants (CMA)) or auditing (Certified Internal Auditors (CIA), Certified Information System Auditors (CISA)) designation
 
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum 8 years in a Finance/Audit role (audit experience is a must) or 10 years plus professional experience, preferably in insurance or financial services industry/ familiar with regulatory guidelines and Insurance Act related requirements.
SKILLS
(i.e. language, IT software, etc.)
Excellent Analytical skills
 
PERSONAL QUALITIES
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to undertake audits with a consultative approach
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Preferably have past experience of working in operations/financial/Internal Audit of a recognized insurance company
Preferably trained by one of the big 4 accounting firms
