JOB SUMMARY

1.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance Operations & Strategies, and the successful candidate will be responsible to assist the SVP in handling and managing all aspects of Finance Operations & Credit Control matters. The successful candidate will oversee, handle & manage all finance operational and credit control matters including bank reconciliations, trade debtors’ reconciliations provision for doubtful debts. The successful candidate will also be responsible to provide agreed standards of service to customers (both internal & external).

As a Vice President, the successful candidate will also be responsible on succession planning activities, which include training, motivating and developing own team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Ensure that appropriate credit controls process and procedures are in place to meet the requirements for decision making, financial and strategic planning.
2.
Review of outstanding receivables aging and assess recoverability and assessment of provision for doubtful debts.
3.
To manage, develop and maintain all credit control and financial operations systems and internal controls including developing impairment policy and provide advice and training to marketing staff and staff within organization on finance operations and credit control related procedures.
4.
Manage new and existing regulatory requirements where appropriate and incorporate them into the financial and management accounts.
5.
Review monthly statement of account to ensure timely collection process and minimize financial loss
6.
Review financial management needs of the finance operations and credit control structure and propose new systems/ processes to support these needs where appropriate.
7.
Liaise with Legal team for lawyer debts litigation
8.
Succession Planning
 Identify and groom talent to ensure succession planning of the team
 To train, motivate and develop staff.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Carry out projects and other duties as may be assigned. Participate in and contribute to the successful development and implementation of projects related to Finance Operations.

Ensure compliance with the requirements of local regulations and all other relevant statutory regulations and guidelines, as well as all relevant Company, Regional and AXA Group policies and procedures.
2.
Information System Security:
Responsible for defining requirements as regards to information availability, confidentiality and integrity. Managers must ensure that all staff members (including temporary staff) and providers comply with the relevant security standards.
 Perform risk analysis to determine risk and potential business impacts
 Liaise and co-ordinate with Information System Security Manager on all Information System security activities within department
 Ensure compliance on Information System Security standards and IS Security guidelines are adhere to within department
(Requirement under Information Security Programme)


REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
- Degree in any discipline and/or related
- MCE – Grade 1

PROFESSIONAL

(i.e. insurance / accounting, etc.)
AMII /ACII / DMII or equivalent insurance qualifications
LCCI Higher

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
 Minimum of 10 years’ experience in and /or similar role / capacity
SKILLS
(i.e. language, IT software, etc.)
 Knowledge of Accounting packages
 MS Office
 A thorough understanding of accounting standards and guidelines issued by BNM and other requirements imposed by legislation.

 Empathy, teamwork Knowledge of Accounting packages
