Earthquake in Haiti: AXA and its employees donate €1.2 million to charities

After the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, we announced that the Group had organized a call for donations in all AXA business units and decided to match the funds raised among employees. Focus on the results of this operation and an assessment of the situation.

Altogether, €606,000 was donated by employees to local charities supporting Haiti. Having decided to match the funds raised among employees, an equivalent amount, i.e. €606,000, were donated to the Red Cross on February 12, 2010 for their relief activities in the country.

As the counting of all employees' donations has not yet been finalized, a second transfer will be arranged in March.
